Rosa is a farm goat. When we wake her up we have to take her outside so that she can go to the toilet. She can dance and sidestep. She sleeps outside. She feeds on a bottle. Rosa is very fast. Faster than me. My cat is scared of Rosa because Rosa is tall. Keighly keeps on picking Rosa up.

Today at lunchtime in the hall there was a disco, the disco was taking place to raise money for a new St. John ambulance. It was a gold coin entry and there was juice and lollies for 50 cents. there was a prize for the best shuffler and the best brake dancer there was also a live D.J. Mr D. and MR H. went with rugby head gear on . Almost the whole school went.

I went crazy because 1st prize was a trip to Wellington zoo, a book of The Twits and tickets to the show The Twits .You get accommodation, flights and tickets to the zoo in Wellington. Splash! as we ran to the hall to watch the Waimea Collage Orchestra play for us a giant rain drop hit my head. This happend on the 12th of July. When they were playing I saw the flutes. I liked the flutes the best. They also played 5 songs , they were the Simpsons ,the Pink Panther , the Flinstones , the Lord of the rings and twinkle twinkle little star. When I am older I want to play the flute.

This morning after morning tea we ran through the torrential rain to go to the hall to watch the talented Waimea College students preform in their amazing school orchestra. The songs they played sounded fabulous. The songs were the pink panther, the Simpson's theme song, Lord of the rings, Twinkle twinkle little star and the Flintstones. They played 3 categories of instruments the categories were strings, wind and brass.The instruments I liked most were the trumbone, cello, violin, clarinet and the keyboard. If I was playing in the orchestra I would like to play the violin, keyboard or trumbone. It was an awesome experience!!!!

BRR... It was freezing when we walked into the all. When we walked into the hall we saw the Waimea College Orchestra band.They had come to perform to us. They did lots of different songs, after they had done the songs they talked about the instruments and explained what was similar and different to the other instruments.The songs they did were: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, The Simpsons, The Pink Panther, The Flintstones, The Lord Of The Rings and The Alphabet Song. There were lots of different instruments we heard when they were playing,there was a Chello,Viola, Violin,Bass Guitar, Saxophone, flute,Drum kit and many more that I cannot name! The instrument I would like to learn when I am older is the Violin because it looks like a lot of fun and it also looks reasonably easy to play. I thought the show was awesome and they had some very talented students.

Anti-bullying Magic Show

This morning we were visited by Elgregoes anti-bullying magic show preformance,preformed by Elgregoe and his lovely wife assistant, Sue. One of the stars of the show was Eggie the ecalyaptus parrot from Solomon Islands, another star was Borris the hound dog who talked about his problems at school, about how kids were teasing him about his long, floppy ears.Elgregoe said W.I.T.S is the solution to all of your problems! W is for walk away, I is for ignrore, T is for talk and S is for stop. The six words for a great day at school, 1.Respect 2.Acceptance 3.Fairness 4.Trustworthy 5.Encourage and 6.Caring. Shaun Sturkenboom got up and was a human puppet and did a Michael Jackson preformance,which was the funniest event of the show.Corey, Naomi, Jessica, Diego, Shaun and Amelia received a prize. They also put several different coloured scarves in a book with no pages written by R.U Smart and when Elgregoe opened the book a huge scarf with patterns on it.There was a bucket with water in it that kept pouring water and a phrase went with it and it sounds like this, Don't stop caring or pouring out some help.The show went for 1 hour, it was a fabulously magnificent magic show.

BRRR...It was freezing when we walked into the hall.Today at school we had a show performed by, Students, Elgrego (a magician), and his assistant wife Sue. The main line in the show was to stop bullying.Elgrego the magician brought along Eccie who is a tropical bird.there was also a small hound dog called Borris, who talked about being teased about his big ears at school.So Elgrego said '' Have you ever heard of W.I.T.S. ? It is a solution that will help you''.W.I.T.S. stand for Walkaway Ignore Talk about your problem to someone who will care and that you trust and Stop. They also had s book called word power which is written by R. U. Smart. They opened the front cover of the book and there was nothing inside it, so Elgrego said the magic word and waved his hand in front of the book. Then inside the book appeared bits of wood with words on them. They handed those out to the three students that were helping up the front. After that Shaun Sturkenboom came up and was put in a mask which only went over his mouth with big puffy lips. He also had a big black curly wig on his head. He was supposed to look like Michael Jackson. He was asked if he would prefer a frizbee worth 10 dollars or an 100 dollar note. Since Elgrego was saying the answers to all the questions he chose the frizbee. Then they put on some music which Shaun had to dance to and Elgrego sang. When they were finished the audience burst into laughter. They also had lots of illusions that our eyes thought had disappeared but they hadn't. There was also a flying table that I thought was awesome.I thought the show was AWESOME.

Cross Country Run

Last Thursday Brightwater school walked to Lord Rutherford park to do the cross country run. There was a series of races depending on your age group. The track was nearly a kilometre and a half long, we had to go through the goal posts, around the clubrooms, across the carpark, along the bank, down several ditches and then we followed the bike track to the finish line. I came roughly 22nd or 27th, but I had fun! I was puffed and relieved when I came to the finish line.

We made and designed awesome spiral snakes and tied string to the top of our snakes and hung them over the heater. The heater had been going for a while to warm up the room, and then we watched what happened to our snakes.

We found out that above the heater they spun clockwise and outside they spun anticlockwise.

First we put three spoons in a bowl of boiling hot water. One was made of metal the next one was made of wood and the last on was made of plastic. We felt the ends to see which one was the best conductor of heat. The best conductor of heat was the metal spoon and the wooden and plastic spoons were better insulators.

Bang, crash, boom! On Friday the 11th of march an earthquake happened. Following the earthquake was a terrifying tsunami, erupting volcano and an exploding powerplant. This happened in Japan. There was also a super sinning whirlpool in the middle of the ocean.

Room 6 drew a bar graph on 'What is our favorite coloured balloon?" in the first week of school. My teacher put out different coloured balloons like blue, black, white, pink, yellow, orange, red and green. Blue was the favourite with 10 people voting for it. It was real run decorating the balloon graph. We decorated it with zig zags and squiggles. It was really fun.

Middle Syndicate Te Awhina Marae visit

On Thursday the 2nd of September the whole middle syndicate went in a care to Te Awhina Marae. When we got there it was raining so we did the Powhiri inside the Wharenui. Parkland school sang a Waiata and then we did. We talked about the marae and then Whaea Sue took us into the Wharekai. We sat down and the Parkland school whanau class did a few waiatas. Then we got kai and had to use napkins for plates. After Whaea Sue put us into groups. 1 group went with Whaea Sue to look at the Wharenui and the other went with Whaea Sarah to look at the whole marae. After that we went back into the Wharenui and had a poroporoaki to finish off. Then we went home.

I went on a amazing trip to aussie and the theme parks. I went to Sea world,Wet,n,wild and Movie world. The place we stayed at was called Beach Haven. It had 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool it also had a tennis court and bbq. At sea world there was 2 roller coasters and shows you can watch. At movie world there was a show and it was called Hollywood stunt driver and it had 3 cars. 1 car was a robber and the other cars were policecars. The water park was last. It is called Wet,n,Wild. The best ride was called tornado. The plane we went on first had a touch screen tv on the seat in front of you. It had two of my favorite albums. They were Foo fighters and Acdc.

On the 9-11 me and Dad got the go-kart going. Around 4:00 we took it to Dad's friend Paul to try and fix the brakes. When we got them working, Dad told me to ride around Paul's paddock. So I rode around it for 5 minutes then,SPLAT! I had hit a puddle of sloppy cow poo YUCK! I said as I hit it again another 5 times. Then all of a sudden the motor turned itself off , Dad and Paul came running over and pushed the go-kart back. About 10 minutes later Dad tested the go-kart again and it worked really good until Dad ran into some cow poo too! "Just like being back on the farm," said Dad and off we went home.

At Teapot Valley Christian Camp there is a black water slide on the hill. When it was my go i got a big push from Steve then I let go of the sides of the mat by accident and started spinning around , I thought i wouldn't get to the bottom but suddenly SPLASH i got to the bottom but then I went too far , I got right at the top at the end of the water slide then I couldn't get down! when I tried to get down I slipped and fell over!

Dressage Test By Kahn

On Tuesdays I go to Richmond Group Riding for the Development. I had to do a dressage test with trotting and I chose that. I got this many points: 68%. I felt really happy because I scored lots of points. I am riding Pinto now and he is cute because he is black and white. He never gets tired of walking around in a circle. My helper is Jeanie and she lets go of the rope so I am riding by myself. One time she let me go and Pinto walked off!!! He went back to the other horses in the pens!

Aura found a baby possum inside a mother possums pouch.She took it home and feed it milk with a syringe. She made it a hot water bottle every hour to keep it warm and she kept it against her tummy to keep it warm. She called it Franjelica. The baby possum died on the 2/7/09.

Camerons trip to STOMP

Five weeks ago Mum, Dad, Mackenzie and I went to Stomp in Christchurch. We walked around for two hours! [Mum wanted to go to some shops]. When we finally arrived Mum let us have lollies. Soon
after we went in.
Crash! Smash! The people where playing away with the brooms, then Crack! one of the brooms broke. The guy stared at it and walked off the stage.
When he came back he had a newspaper. While his friends banged on pots and pans ten meters above him, he read it. At the end he took out ear plugs. Then four of his friends grabbed some more newspaper, and sat down beside him. One of them pretended to be superman and a chicken, then tried eating his black braid. It was funny.

My Trip to Auckland to see Princess On Ice.

On Saturday morning at 6'o'clock my Nan and I went to the airport to fly to Auckland to see Princess Wishes on Ice.
When we got there it started pouring down so Uncle Kery came and picked us up and took us to Uncle Kery's and Auntie Yon's for tea.
On Saturday we had lasagne and bread.
On Saturday after lunch we went to the Ice Show. They had big dragon tht blew out orange fire across the ice rink. At the end there was fireworks. We also got drinks with ice in them and some tops and pjs with the characters from the Show on them.
On Sunday we went shopping. I got some clothes for lunch. We had all sorts of food. My Aunty had sushi, I had McDonald's, Nana and Uncle Keri had donuts. After lunch we went to Borders to get some books and a book present for a grandson and then we went shopping. First we went to Kmart and found a top that Nan liked so we didn't buy it so we went to Farmers and got some clothes and shoes.
And then we flew home.

On Monday the 6th of April 2009 Rooms 5 ,6 and 7 went to Mapua for our school trip. When we got there we jumped out of our cars. Some Room 6 people went on two hills. After we had morning tea then we went for a walk on the rocky beach. Next we went to the Aquarium. There was a guy named Richard. He showed us how to play odd man out and then he showed us a fish puppet show. It was a long and funny puppet show. After that, we had a quick look around,we only got one
minute. Next we had some hot chips for lunch. After lunch we got a little treat. It was a chocolate fish. After we went fishing. Zane caught 2 starfish and 1 crab. My dad and I saw one krill. Dad felt a fish and another fish, but we didn't get them. After we went back to school at 2 30. Thats all!!!!!!

On the 29†h of March Brightwater school had an auction and gala from 11 am -3 pm
at 106 Ellis Street Brightwater, Nelson. The middle sindacate sold salt dough fish at the gala and there were toys, books, comics, dvds, vidios, cooking, tea, coffee and the list goes on and on!

On Tuesdays I go to horse riding. My pony is called Chippy. He is cheeky. He tries to eat grass when I'm riding him. We practiced a dressage test. I think I got 131 points. The judges gave us sheets to show our family. When we get to riding we put our helmets on and brush our ponies. We put the gear on them- a bridle and pony pad- before going to the mounting block. One day we rode on our horses up a really steep hill and down another steep hill. When we finish riding we put our gear away. One time I cuddled Chippy round the neck and slipped off and landed on my knees!! I love riding on Tuesdays!

Tiddler squidged out of his fish shaped cave house and he shot into a million times bigger fish than he was. He zoomed faster than a dragster. he smashed into a rubber cave! He danced in it for a millisecond. He cam zooming past a five legged starfish and bounced back into his house.

The children from Ranzau , Appleby , Wakefield , Brightwater and Hope had the Waimea South Schools Swimming Sports . The date was Thursday 12 th 2009 . The children had indoor pool races of starfish , torpedo , a noodle relay , back stroke , kick board , breath stroke and freestyle . The children who got first , second and third had a red, yellow and another coloured block that represented a number. The scores where written on a piece of paper on a desk. The width swimmers returned before the length swimmers.

Waimea South Swimming Sports

On Thursday the 12 of March all the children from Brightwater school went to the Waimea South Schools Swimming sports. It was at the Wakefield Indoor Swimming Pool for the Ranzau, Brightwater, Appleby, Wakefield and Hope School, only Middle Syndicates.
There were races. The races were kickboard, backstroke, torpedo, noodle relay, starfish, freestyle, and breaststroke. The children knew that they came first, second or third cause they got a red for first, blue for secong and yellow for third. The children knew what race they were in cause they had numbers on their hands.

Room 6 started making fish with Mrs Inch. The first thing we had to do was plan our design. Some people did a different fish like a shark. We had to draw the design that we wanted to on the shape that we picked and the next day we dyed them .It took fifteen minutes to dry on each side.That day we stuffed them too. We had to be very careful not to rip them but some people did. So we took them to Mrs Inch and she stapled them for us and then we hung them.

Last weekend I went to the Rugby Tournanament. We had to play five games. It was really hard because we had to play a final. We beat the other Wanderers team in the final. Because we won the final we got to get the big cup and we went to MacDonalds afterwards. The score was 10 - 9 to out team which was called Wanderers Blue. The team we beat was Wanderers Gold. Some of the people in our team were Clayton, Josh, Taylor, Zac, Abby, Caleb, Reggie, Jack and me.

Bubble Gum Dancers

It was fun being a Bubble Gum dancer because we got to wear silky skirts and pink sparkly make-up. It was fun performing in front of all the people, but it was extra fun when our parents were watching us. The chorus was fun because we twirled around and got a bit dizzy. Our costumes were a bit cold back stage. When we were in the little room beside the kitchen we read Goosebumps The Haunted Mask. We had fun at the production. MUMMAMIA!! IT WAS FUN!!! Eye In The Sky

It was fun being on That Eye of the Sky. I had the butterflys in my tummy. Somebody said we were supposed be swans. These are the things we had to do to get the make-up on. We had to keep moving to get all of our make-up on. It was fun in the school production because we had lots of fun. I predicted that you should go and see the school production because it is very interesting. I had to wear blue. We had blue on our faces and we didn't like it because when we had our make-up on we couldn't eat if we were hungry because we would smudge our make-up and the make-up on our lips would come off our lips. Black Hole Dancers

In the production Jacinda, Ashlee, Lilli, Sarah G and Keegan were all Black Hole Dancers. We had to practice lots every week but it was still really fun to do. Some practices were in front of all the kindygarten.
When it was the full dress rehearsal we had to get make-up on and our costumes. On the two nights we all brought books, nintendo ds. At half of the production all the dancers that have all ready done their dance had to go in to the chorus and has to go back stage again for the final.
In the production the Black Hole Dancers had their face painted black yellow. It was fun preforming in front of an audience. By Jacinda and Ashlee.

The Perpetual Motion Dancers

When we danced everyone who was watching made me smile. All of the Perpetual Motion dancers wore black leotards except Sarah W and Holly M because Sarah W did not have black leotards so Sarah wore her black gym gear. Holly wore her black singlet and her black tights and silver skirts with silver sequins on them. Every one in the Perpetual Motion did the right moves at the same time. We all had to practice lots and lots. When we practised, we practised in the hall. We had a spiral painted on our faces. The colurs on our faces were black ,silver and opal glitter and on our lips we had silver and opal glitter. We all put alot of effort in to it but it was worth it. And it was very fun.

On Wednesday we watched the Mini Beasts production. It was about 3 bug hunters,the mini beasts were bugs . There were bees, snails,butterflies,ladybugs, spiders, centipedes.We thought the costumes were a bit dodgy .We thought that the acting was great and the make up was great.We didn't like the music because one song got played a whole heap of times. But the chorus was great at singing the songs.It must of taken a lot of pratice. They sung beautifully.

My Mum went to Sydney/Australia for a work conference. She went for 4 days and we missed her a lot. Mum went on Wednesday 13 May and got back on Saturday 17 May in the evening. When she got back we found out what presents she had brought back. Mum got me a key ring thingy, a book called Puppy Love and a barbie thing where you got to feed 1 puppy and the other 2 puppies shared a ball, you got a big dog that is furry, a barbie, a bowl that turns into a bed for two, and 4 bones, 1 for each dog.Dad got chocolate and Jacob got a key ring and a drawing book.We were up until Mum got home on the night Mum came back.

In the holidays it was my brother's birthday. He got a Ukelele, Mp three player, Watch, Chocolate, 100 dollars 6 Byonicles. Next it will be my birthday not his, then my Mums, then Dad's. For half of holidays my Poppa was in hospital for a sort of illness.We also went to the Aquatic Centre and the Mall and MacDonalds. I went to my brother's birthday party, which is when we went to the Aquatic Centre for the entire afternoon. I got to take my cousin with me other wise I would have been the only girl.We got to hire 2 boards, one each.We had loads of fun. In the holidays I saw Lilli and Flynn in passing. From Sunday to Wednesday in the first week of the two week holidays, me and my family went to Tehupu for a holiday like we usually do. When we were driving there we stopped for a drink and a packet of chips each at a dairy. Most of the time we were there we were walking to Gilbert's Beach or playing monopoly. On Monday we had lots of fun walking to Hupu Beach and finding pebbles on a beach called Shark's Head which we found on the way back to the cottage . We took lots of photos. We had scrambled eggs for breakfast and pasta for tea every day we were there. If it was tea time and Jacob and I were watching The Simpsons, Mum and Dad would let us eat tea in front of the television. Our beds had heaters so when we slept we were warm.

Taylahs trip to Wellington

In the holidays on the first weekend my family went to Wellington for a holiday. We went on the Ferry on the way it wasn't rough but on the way back it was. When we were in Wellington we had to take buses everywhere. We went to the Zoo and saw a sun bear. They are the smallest bears in NZ. We also saw monkeys and birds ,giraffes, lizards and zebras. At the Zoo I slipped on concrete and made a big bruise on my knee. We also went to Te Papa and the cable car. The cable car is pulled by a cable. It took ages to get back on a bus and go back to the Ferry. On the Ferry we played on the playground and watched TV. We got a book of things you could do. I didn't get the whole book done because I wanted to keep it for a rainy day. In 2 months my family is going to go on a P and O Cruiser were going to Dravoni Island which is part of Fiji.Were also going with Nana and Grandad.

Last Friday after flippaball my grandmother came to pick up some baskets but then my brother remembered that there was rugby on that night so he asked if he could come and watch the rugby with her. So she said yes of course .After that decision was made Mum and me went shoe shopping. In town we went to the Number One Shoe Warehouse. It took my Mum a long time to decide. She got two pairs of shoes and I got one pair of shoes. I got sneakers and she got some work shoes and some walking shoes.After that, is was past tea time so we went home and heated up some macaroni cheese and then instead of going to bed we stayed up till 9 o'clock at night playing board games. I won all of them but instead of using electricity, we lit every candle in the house . I went to bed but Mum stayed up till the the candles were cold.Next morning I had toast in my Mum's bed and watched Hannah Montana all morning. Half way though a episode, someone knocked on the door. It was the courier post .Then Peter rung up and he wanted picking up because Pop was sick .So we went round and picked him up but Dad was cooking up an evil plan. He didn't want to stack his mother's firewood and his brother said that he would do it he if didn't arrange it, so he didn't arrange it, so his brother did it.BY SARAH.G.

Mackenzie's Adventure

In three more weeks we are going to Australia for a year or two. My Dad thinks it's luxury. My Mum will be teaching me correspondence while Dad works hard. We will be living in a caravan like a palace for two years at least. I want to go on bush walks, Samuel wants to go on a train , Jonathan wants to get in to trouble with Mum and Dad, well maybe not so much Mum. Mum wants to go shopping,Dad wants to drive his new car. We are going on a big full drive trip. The trip includes rivers , crocodiles , countries and a very deep river, so you need to cross on a barge .The trip is called the Cape York. I am very excited. Jonathan has just started crawling so we will be full on him plus I need to try and keep Samuel out of my bed ... AH! We will be driving around in a Cruiser. WE WILL BE HAVING LOTS OF FUN !

Weet-bix Tryathlon

In the weekend on Sunday 16th of March it was the Tryathlon. Joe and I went to the Tryathlon. I was in a three with Hannah and Lara. Lara was doing the Biking, Hannah was doing the Running, and I was doing the Swimming. We all went to the beach to watch the big kids doing the swimming. The big kids did 200 meters. The team swimming was 2nd to swim. When I was waiting to swim I went to line up. I saw Hamish Carter and I asked him if he could sign my Weet- bix t-shirt and he did sign it. My brother Joe got a photo with him and he got his medal. Just before we went for the swim we had to line up. I was in the 2nd line. Then we all started to run the into the water. The water was cold and I could only just touch the bottom and when I was finished I had to run out of the water to the transion area to find and tag Lara and then I had to wait and then we went to wait with Hannah for the run.

On Thursday Rooms 6, 7 and 9 went to the Wakefield School Pool to do swimming sports. There were all kinds of swimming races. Wakefield School, Ranzau School and Hope School were there too. There was lots of noise and commotion. The water was warm. The races were hard, especially the relay at the end. Ranzau School won the relay. Before morning tea time there was a width of freestyle, a width of breaststroke, a width of torpedo, a width of kicking across the pool and starfish. After morning tea time there was a length of freestyle, a length of backstroke and a length of torpedo. When we did the lengths was harder than the widths because the lengths was the hole pool and the widths were just across the pool.We had fun!

Trip to Quinny's Bush!

On Thursday the whole of Brightwater School went on a trip to Quinny's Bush. When we arrived we had morning tea under the trees by the blue shelter. Then we went to our activities. Room 6 and 7 went to the water slide and flying fox and on both of them we got one turn on each one. And then we went to the confidence course. Then we all went back to have lunch. Next Room 6 & 7 went to the games, followed by the river. After the river we went back to school but some people went to drop some people at school before they went home.
WE HAD LOTS OF FUN!!!!
