Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun and is mostly made up of helium and hydrogen .It is also named after the chief of the roman gods.Jupiter does not have any rings and the surface temperature is 150 degrees.It has sixteen moons and it's 778 million kilometres from the sun,it takes 9 hours and 55 minutes to spin on it's axis.It takes 11.86 of our year to orbit the sun.The red spot on Jupiter is a hurricane.To calculate your weight on Jupiter your (mass weight on earth) x 2.36= your weight on Jupiter.Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system.The planet was discovered in ancient times and Jupiter is 11 times bigger than earth.A few of Jupiters biggest moons are called Ganymede,Lo,Callisto and Europea.The small black dot on Jupiter is a reflection of one of Jupiters moons. The hurricane on jupiter has been raging for nearly 100 years and is 3 times bigger than earth.Scientists predicted that the gases on Jupiter have something to do with life on earth.Jupiters upper atmosphere is called magnetatmosphere it's so big it goes out past Saturn Jupiters wind speeds go past (644kph). About 1,396 earths could fit inside Jupiter. The coloured stripes on Jupiter are caused by different chemicals and temperature
